I am not a huge space enthusiast, but I have often wondered what would the night sky look like if the moon was replaced by one of our solar system’s planets?
Well Ron Miller answers this question with his collection of manipulated images station planets, from the relatively minute Mercury to the enormous Jupiter, in place of Earth’s moon.
At a distance of about 240,000 miles, the Moon occupies a space in the night sky about half a degree wide. By sheer coincidence, this is almost exactly the same size the sun appears, which is why we occasionally get total solar eclipses.
This made me simultaneously euphoric and horrified.
